Health news today - What is good health?

Good health is not just "the absence of disease." It is the absence of disease-ease or discomfort. We think we are healthy as long as we progress or decay at the same rate as everyone else around us.

Usually the unsanitary conditions do not develop overnight. Pathological development is always accompanied by warnings.

Our body is a wonderful machine. When something goes wrong it is to warn us first. We need to pick up a signal.

Each has a unique biochemistry and metabolism are unique. Therefore, each individual has different nutritional needs depending on medical history and lifestyle.

Fortunately there is a generic way to keep yourself healthy. There are many common ways that, if followed, can help us stay healthy.

To stay healthy, we need to maintain our body by eating the right foods and avoiding the wrong. Deficiencies, elimination & counting of calories alone can not nourish our bodies.

Good health means all or body organs to function in harmony. Exercise has a number of health benefits but exercise can cause stress and fatigue. Fiber-rich food is good to have, but too much fiber prevents absorption of minerals such as zinc, calcium and iron which causes some drawbacks.

Food can heal and restore health to the sick. Food is an important healing powers. One can think of food as a complementary medicine in many circumstances.

There is a difference between hunger and appetite. Hunger is the need for food. But we have an appetite for certain foods, without really hungry. Hunger is the physical and psychological appetite and triggered only by temptation.

The role of exercise in our lives is also important.
With age, our bodies become inflexible. It is more than dis-use of wear and tear. The human body requires a certain minimum level of activity. Lack of activity or exercise affects muscle movement. As you brush your teeth everyday you have to take the time to exercise. You can not say that you do not have time to brush my teeth. Exercise can be just a quick walk or some aerobics or go to the gym. Do whatever is right for you. Either in the morning or in the evening.
Simple walking for 30 minutes a day can work wonders for you to stay healthy.

Our main goal in life is to be happy. We need to watch our emotions and thoughts. Our physical health is affected by our state of mind. Negative frame of mind due to anxiety, stress, tension, deadlines etc reflects on the physical level.

We need to review our ever increasing needs and desires and become more aware of our practice solitude and inner space / silence for inner peace.

The key to good health lies in moderation and balance.
